Motorola RTU Hardware RTU Programming Software --
Wonderware -- -- HMI Software
Intellution -- -- HMI Software

Turbitrol company representatives have undergone extensive training associated with the above programs to insure that it can provide the necessary technical expertise consistent with these VAR relationships. This continuing education, coupled with practical project application experience enables Turbitrol to ultimately bring a better product to the end user.

General Project Approach

The approach necessary is dependent to a large extent on the type of project. If the SCADA/Plant Process Control System Integration project is a subset of a larger project where the integration portion is supplied as a subcontract to the general contract, then there is generally no or little electrical site work would be done by Turbitrol Company. In this case, the electrical/mechanical subcontractors do the installation work with site engineering supervision being supplied by Turbitrol to insure compliance with contract requirements. If the contract is such that Turbitrol is the prime contractor, and the work is primarily SCADA with little of no site construction; Turbitrol does the equipment installation and all low voltage wiring. We only subcontract specialty work or electrical work as necessary to provide conduit and plant wiring systems, etc.

In any case, final terminations to Turbitrol Company supplied equipment can be done by Turbitrol if local union contracts allow.

All projects within Turbitrol are based upon the Project Manager approach. Each Project Manager is a licensed Professional Engineer. It is his responsibility to contractually manage the project and to provide senior design and supervision services for the project. All decisions regarding design and implementation are his responsibility. He represents Turbitrol Company regarding the project and coordinates the company work with the Owner or General Contractor and Prime Engineer and subcontractors as necessary. Based upon the size of the project more than one senior engineer may be assigned to the work but their work effort is under the assigned Project Manager.

Under the supervision and direction of the Project Manager a project plan is prepared for approval. Once approved, all subsequent work is performed in accordance with this plan that outlines subsequent submittals, equipment purchases, design, manufacturing, testing, installation, field testing, and acceptance.

A software programmer is assigned as necessary to implement any custom project work necessary for the project under the direction of the Project Manager.

All design work is implemented using networked PC based CAD stations allowing standardized approaches to drawing preparation from a library of drawings and symbol sets. These library functions are modified as necessary to account for job specific requirements. The use of these design tools reduces the potential for errors and allows quick modification to and record keeping of the implemented design.

All plant and field tests are done under the supervision of the Project Manager in accordance with the approved project submittals and test procedures. Once any corrections made necessary as a result of the factory test are made and signed off by the Project Manager the equipment is released for field shipment assuming site readiness.

A field service technician or regional service manager is assigned to coordinate all fieldwork under the Project Manager's direction. The field technician is responsible for all preliminary field work and initial verification of site work conformance. He further serves as the day to day eyes of the Project Manager in insuring proper field progress. All field installation and startup work is in accordance with contract documents, equipment manufacturer requirements, local codes, etc.

After field installation and performance testing is complete, customer training is implemented. Some projects require factory training and field training in stages. If this is the case it will be done in accordance with the project plan.

The general contract usually indicates the warranty and service requirements desired by the owner. These specified requirements will be performed.

Turbitrol Company has historically provided maintenance contracts for the systems supplied by us. These contracts provide services in accordance with the wishes of the owner and are based on their capabilities to perform some or most of the services required. The contracts can be tailored to perform all maintenance, troubleshooting and repair or as subset of this as desired. Normal response times in these contracts are eight (8) hours for emergency conditions or maximum of two days for normal repairs, Monday through Friday. However, we have provided contracts with four- (4) hour response depending upon the critical nature of the facility. Quicker response times require premium pricing due to the necessity of maintaining personnel availability. Also on computer based projects we often provide telephone/dial in support that can often be used to troubleshoot and or repair software/hardware problems more quickly. Dial in response time is usually contracted for one hour.
